I Can Take Your Fiction from Good to Great!

Six Fiction Essentials

  • Your main character must want something intensely
  • show, don’t tell
  • reveal background information on the characters via dialogue/action
  • create an interior monologue (reflection) to let the characters do the explaining while they are thinking
  • is the point of view working? This is BIG!
  • reveal background information gradually, not all at once.

I offer Fiction Boot Camps, Fiction Editing Webinars and one-on-one Fiction mentoring!

Want to write your novel this year? Sick and tired of the stops, starts and general non-motivation? Then jump into this four-part class and get accountability. Fiction begins with the main character wanting something so badly it hurts. Your job as the writer is to make life very difficult for your main character so a fresh and inventive story will emerge without cliché. Taught by experienced fiction editor Alice Osborn, in this month-long workshop, we’ll dive deep into the craft of storytelling, along with discussing point of view, setting, dialogue and pacing. Alice will give prompts to strengthen and support your work. Sharing will be highly encouraged. Intermediate writers are encouraged to attend. Intermediate writers are writers who have been working on their craft for at least a year, have invested time and money into their craft and/or have publicly shared their work-prior publishing is NOT a required for this class.
