Have you always wanted to write your own song? Now you have your chance! When you write a song you are creating your own story, mood, and moving images—there’s nothing more powerful than that! In this workshop, you will learn how to harness the power of melody, rhythm, and poetry to generate memorable hooks, licks, and beginnings/endings with confidence while learning the basics of music theory and improvisational skills. Using prompts and expressive writing, instructor Alice Osborn, an experienced published poet and singer-songwriter, will explore the process of songwriting and its art and craft, so you’ll be able to connect the truth of your personal experience while having a heck of lot of fun along the way.
