Join 2019 Piedmont Laureate David Menconi for a performance-oriented talk with poet/singer-songwriter Alice Osborn, about words, music, writing and finding one’s voice wherever it may be. In addition to being a songwriter, Alice is a published poet, editor, and has taught memoir and other creative writing forms for over 14 years to both local and international audiences. David Menconi was a music critic and arts reporter at the News & Observer in Raleigh and has also written for Rolling Stone, Spin, Billboard, New York Times and salon.com. His books include the 2012 biography Ryan Adams: Losering, A Story of Whiskeytown (University of Texas Press), and his next book will be a history of North Carolina music for UNC Press.
